Parador de Alarcon, Spain http://www.parador.es/en/paradores/parador-de-alarcon The Parador de Alarcón is a unique hotel chain owned by the Government of Spain and is a leisurely 2-hour drive from Madrid. It is off the usual tourist trail and an ideal spot to get away from it all. Because of my love of castles, we spent a weekend there, staying on one of the upper floors. If you can see that small window, that’s where we stayed. Moraine Lake, Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada Canada is one of the most amazing places on earth. At Moraine Lake, while it is hard to see, it looks like there are scratches in the water. The scratches are not from poor photography; they are actually fully grown trees that have been stripped bare and found their way into the lake after the worst flood the country has ever seen in 2013. |
